The Great Mosque of Al-Mahsun

The Great Mosque is one of Medan City’s icons. It was built at 21 August 1906 and had finished at 10 September 1909. This is one of the favorite sites to visit by foreign and domestic travelers in North Sumatra. Local people make the mosque like their home.They enjoy staying around the mosque after praying (sholat). According to the local tradition, in the pasting moon, Moslems from around the city usually come together to the mosque to have Ramadan food and drinks.
